Greater DC Cares, the leading and largest nonprofit coordinator of volunteerism and service in the Washington, DC region, announced Justine Love, an honoree of the 2009 Class of Change. Justin is the Director of Community & Public Affairs at WPGC FM and AM radio stations and a proud member of the DC Metro Graduate Chapter of Swing Phi Swing Social Fellowship, Inc.® This year’s class of twenty emerging and lifelong champions in philanthropy, volunteerism and service were honored as a part of Greater DC Cares’ 20th anniversary celebration of service.
“We were excited to join the region in honoring this year’s class. They truly represented our region’s most distinguished leaders of philanthropy, volunteerism, and service,” said Dr. Madye Henson, President and CEO at Greater DC Cares. “This year’s event was a celebration of their incredible work and the impact Greater DC Cares has made across the region over the past 20 years.”
Greater DC Cares comprehensively mobilizes volunteers and strengthens the capacity of nonprofits to better impact communities and the key issues in the Greater DC Region. It works with a network of more than 750 nonprofits, 13,000 volunteers and a host of corporate and foundation partners working together to positively impact the region
The class was honored at the Class of Change event in November, 2009 at the Kellogg Conference Center at Gallaudet University. The evening commemorated Greater DC Cares’ 20th anniversary and also feature a silent auction.
